Nancy and I enjoyed the beautiful day and saw the hot-ticket traveling Vermeer. Back in 2009 we drove out to the Norton-Simon to see a Vermeer, the ‘A Lady Writing’. This one is called ‘Woman in Blue Reading a Letter’. Nice symmetry I think.
I just read that there are only 35-36 Vermeer paintings left in the world. There’s an excellent website essentialvermeer.com that tells about them (click on the image and then click around in it) and where they are.
