This is a photo…

November 22-23

This is a photo from the catalog of a show about tea at the Fowler Museum. Nancy, Sharon, and I had a great afternoon there at UCLA, but first things first, we ate very delicious food at Flame, a Persian restaurant in Westwood.

The last two days I’ve been putting a push on getting ready to spend Thanksgiving with Cynthia in WISCONSIN(!) where it isn’t too tooo cold yet.

Michi in Santa Barbara…

November 20-21

Michi in Santa Barbara and her friend Marilyn who put on a rockin’ good karaoke party for a house full of guests all competing for Star Of The Show. What fun!

I went to the…

November 19

I went to the optometrist today to find out if the insurance company would say my cataract was bad enough for surgery and to confirm that I didn’t have a brain tumor.

Yes she said, you can get that cataract out any time and no she said, your blurred vision is not the result of a brain tumor. So January it’s going to be…I hope!

We went to Century…

We went to Century City, to the Annenburg Space for Photography. There was a big sports exhibit that was very much worth seeing – and Free.

It was odd to be wandering around here, so much had changed. After coming to Century City every work day of my life for more than 25 years I hadn’t been outside the mall for five years, since I retired(!).

I will mention Merlyn…

I will mention Merlyn who joined us for dinner and picked up the check in honor of his promotion and for this reason I tell the story with this picture of a golden victor’s crown.

Oh we had quite…

November 17

Oh we had quite the visit today, chatting and taking turns to put our arms up high. Isn’t she smart? And extremely talented. And so advanced for her age. Really.

I went downtown with…

November 15

I went downtown with Marsha today to see Becky in a play at the LATC – Los Angeles Theatre Center…not the Music-Theater Center with the Dorothy Chandler-Ahmanson-etc.

But it is a great venue. Set in what seems a classic, genteel old bank building that has been refurbished with many small theaters for off-off-Broadway kind of projects. Go if can. There’s very easy parking next door so don’t worry about the location. You can support live theater and enjoy yourself at the same time. Cool!

Welcome back Nancy! …

November 14

Welcome back Nancy! Here we are in her new Park La Brea home having a Bon Voyage dinner for Roger and Sandy who are moving to San Francisco at the end of the month.

We are in the midst of comings and goings aren’t we?! When people leave I like to imagine visiting them – it blunts the loss.

The view from Nancy’s…

The view from Nancy’s new apartment. Dang cool! And in LA no less.

(ps, we engaged in SO much window peeping, oh yes we did…and very entertaining it was.)

Sharon and I did…

November 13

Sharon and I did ‘the walk’ this morning. Wow, it was SO sharp and clear out there today.

I went with Brigitte…

I went with Brigitte to see Michael Jackson. If you’ve ever liked anything MJ did, anything at all, then you will like this movie. If you want to read about it before risking the two hours…it’s long…check out Roger Ebert’s review. Amazing it is.

We went to Rome’s…

We went to Rome’s school’s Open House tonight. They had student craft projects Everywhere. It was quite an impressive display.

I took a picture…

I took a picture of these pictures of their pumpkin project. You’ll not want to miss Rome’s expression.

Hi sweetie! I…

November 9

Hi sweetie! I picked up Rome at school today while Angela and Lilly went to Mommy and Me Yoga. What fun!

Inside the Mission at San Luis Obispo.

The flowers under the stations of the cross are an odd juxtaposition between The Light of a happy flower garland and The Dark of torture and misery. Church.
